Meet Flora Shedden at The Biscuit Factory and try a selection of recipes from her new book…
In conjunction with Forum Books & Kids and as part of The Biscuit Factory’s Ouseburn Open Studios Spring Fete weekend – we’re thrilled to welcome Great British Bake Off star Flora Shedden to the gallery on Sunday 19 March to chat about her newly published book, Gatherings.
In The Factory Kitchen, we’ll also be serving up a menu featuring recipes from her new book, including including mushroom and brie sarnie, apple and cheddar oat scones, and chocolate passion torte.
Perfect for the foodies out there, this is your chance to meet Flora, buy a book, get it signed and then try some of her amazing recipes prepared by our talented chef Michael Waugh.
Admission is free. The event takes place on Sunday 19 March 2017, 11am – 12pm.
Gatherings by Flora Shedden will be a collection of modern dishes, staple snacks, salads and sides, interesting bakes, and puddings perfect to end a feast with. Nothing overly fussy or complicated, just tasty, pretty plates of food.
A gathering is an easy way of cooking and hosting. It means no pressure, no code of conduct, and everyone – cook included – can actually enjoy themselves. This is the premise of Flora’s debut cookbook. Chapters will be led by occasion or you can pick and choose from dishes such as Sloe Gin Braised Venison, Cocoa Nib Brownies and Redcurrant Pavlovas to put on a spread. There are menu ideas to show you how.
Flora Shedden is 20 and lives in Scotland, where she spends as much time as possible at her family home in Highland Perthshire. She was the youngest ever semi-finalist in the Great British Bake Off, impressing judges and public alike with her simple, elegant designs.
